When life hands you a bitter melon, you make bitter melonade, a.k.a. karela lemonade. Although it’s name states otherwise, bitter melonade is anything but bitter. It is a healthy twist on the classic lemonade. It’s refreshing on a hot, summer day and soothing on a cold, wintery one.
Ingredients:
8 oz. water
5 slices Indian bitter melon
5 slices ginger
1 tbsp. honey
A few basil leaves
Juice of half a medium-sized lemon
Kitchen tools:
Small pot
